Privacy Policy
This explains what UpLeagues stores about you, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. It describes what the app actually does — if something here does not match what you see in the app, the app is wrong and we want to know.
What we collect
You give us:
- Your account — email address and password (stored hashed, never in readable form), or your Google account if you sign in that way.
- Your profile — display name, date of birth, city and country, playing position, and a photo if you upload one.
- What you do in the app — the teams and leagues you belong to, matches you check in to, scores you report, ratings you give, endorsements you write, and who you block.
We do not collect location data, contacts, or anything from your device beyond what is needed to keep you signed in and, if you turn it on, send notifications.
Who can see what
- Your profile, attributes and endorsements are visible to other signed-in players. That is the point of the app.
- Your ratings of other players are private. Nobody — not the player you rated, not their captain, not the league organizer, not us in normal operation — can see who gave which score. Only the averaged result is shown.
- Your teams and leagues are visible to the people in them. There is no public directory; a team or league is reached by its code or an invitation.
- Your notifications are readable only by you.
- Blocking is silent. If you block someone they are not told.
Why we keep it
To run the thing you signed up for: showing your profile, computing ratings from peer votes, keeping league tables correct, and telling you when something needs your attention. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it lives
UpLeagues runs on Supabase (database, authentication and file storage) and Vercel (the website itself). Both act as processors on our behalf and store data on servers outside Egypt. Your photo and any team or league logo you upload are stored in public buckets, meaning anyone with the direct link can view the file.
How long we keep it
- Your account and history — until you delete your account.
- Notifications you have read — 30 days, then removed automatically.
- Ratings — for as long as the match record exists.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete my account. Your profile, photo, memberships, check-ins, your computed attributes and your match history are permanently removed.
One deliberate exception: ratings you gave other players are kept, with your identity removed. Deleting them would silently change other people’s scores — someone else’s number would move because you left, which would be neither fair nor honest. The rating stays; your name does not.
If you captain a team or run an unfinished league, the app asks you to hand that over first, so nobody is left stranded.
Your rights
You can see and edit your profile at any time in the app, and delete your account yourself. For a copy of your data or anything else, email privacy@upleagues.com.
Children
UpLeagues is not for anyone under 13, and the app will not accept a date of birth that makes you younger than that.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
